Following the tradition of the Society, for the members to be equipped with two languages or more, it was high time we were to seal the academic journey by going to the source. French being very important, is the key statement one always refers to create the urge and thirst for it, as we continue to aspire to join the royal kingdom of service.  The journey to and fro’ was accompanied by the goal of coming back to Jinja more eloquent in French than before in the lifetime. The early returning one month before the culmination of the long holiday was proved to have been worthy of being sacrificed. Being a month of cold weather, the moan was always;  “aujourdhui, il fait froid” , ‘it is cold today’. Some days the expression went further with correspondence to the weather,  ‘aujourdhui, il fait très froid’ , ‘it is very cold today’. We are always invited to cherish the life we are granted each and every day. Many believe that we are all aiming at a happy and fulfilled life. Nevertheless, it is not always smooth, as it is comprised of different times of life. Different moods and feelings act as catalyst in the relations and the whole life at large. In the lay man’s linguistic tenable, we can refer to it as being fully and lively present to the other. We live our solidarity in a meaningful way by keenly being attentive to the needs of others; CHARITY.  I n Lavigerie House I have observed that we actually manifest solidarity in two dimensions; first in the interior; within our family which begins from the team since we live in teams. Secondly, in the exterior; where we extend to people outside our community, that is, the consortium (Philosophy Centre Jinja), our pastoral places and the rest of the communities around us. When one is born, there is no awareness if one has a talent and skill until the advance in age. A talent and skill is something in born and it needs to be nurtured in a practical and authentic manner. Some talents are inborn and others are out of practice which applies the same to a skill. The art of talents and skills need to be practiced and developed out of compassion and passion. It is supposed to be done in a discipline and a consistence manner, in order to glow and shine. We can attend better schools, have high scores in academics, and have all sorts of successful options in life, but without our skills and talents, we cannot make a good doctor, priest, nurse, teacher, student, architecture, pilot, just to mention but a few.
